Period! Magazine is published by the Dutch company Period Media (after this called: ‘Period’), Chamber of Commerce 77138341.
In this privacy and cookie policy we explain how we handle your (personal) information; how we collect information, why we collect it and how you can influence this yourself.
We do this because we think guaranteeing the privacy of our website visitors is extremely important. Also we are obliged to do so by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, also known by the Dutch abbreviation AVG) that will take effect in Europe from May, 25 2018.

DATA YOU PROVIDE YOURSELF
If you use the information and services on www.period.media, we may receive personal data from you. For example your name, e-mail address, postal address and/or telephone number. This is personal information you provide yourself when you fill in a contact form, post a comment on an article (blog post), send us an e-mail, respond to a call or participate in a mail & win contest.
We process this (personal) data we receive in an address file that is kept by Period Media. This file is kept indefinitely. We use this address file for marketing purposes, such as sending out a newsletter. However, an ‘unsubscribe’ button has been included in every newsletter, so you can unsubscribe yourself immediately if you wish.
On the rare occasions that we will provide your address details to third parties, for example to the manufacturer or distributor who will ship a prize to you, we will mention this in advance.
Please note: sharing personal data is not mandatory. You can choose at all times whether you want to pass on your personal data to us. Nevertheless, if you have questions about this policy and/or the processing and storage of your (personal) data, or if you want to submit a request to change or delete personal data, you can email us via info@period.media. Besides that, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at all times.
DATA WE COLLECT (COOKIES)
Period! uses cookies, small text files that are stored by your web browser on your computer/mobile/tablet. Cookies are incapable of damaging your computer or the files on there.
Period! only uses cookies for enhancing the user experience of the site and for statistical purposes. No personal data is being collected or passed on to third parties.
Cookies can easily be deleted, for example with the free software CCleaner. However, if you enable or disable cookies, there is a chance that certain functions of the website may not work as well. Via the site statistics of WordPress we can see which articles and pages have been visited, via which referrers (social media, search engines) visitors came in, on what search terms was searched and on which links visitors clicked.
Via Google Analytics we can see how many users the site has, how long these users stay on a specific page, through which referrers users come in (social media, search engines), from which countries visitors come and what sort of device (desktop, mobile, tablet) visitors use. It is also possible to collect demographic data (gender, age) and interests form our visitors via Google Analytics.
SPONSORED BLOGPOSTS AND AFFILIATE LINKS
Period generates income from sponsored blogpostst in the category Spotlight (advertorials) and advertisements (banners). These are placed on the website by AdSense or by Period itself. Period also cooperates with various affiliate programs, including Bol.com, LinkPizza, Tradetracker, Adtraction and Getlinko. These partner programs gather information about the number of clicks on links and the purchases generated through these clicks.

Period doesn’t collect any data that can be traced back to direct personal data via these necessary cookies, cookies for statistical purposes and cookies of partner programs.
With this privacy and cookie policy we’ve tried to inform you as clearly as possible.
