For about three years now street artist La Dame en Rouge (sex unknown) has surprised the inhabitants of the French city Saint-Étienne with remarkable discoveries. Walls, trees, manhole covers or poles – nothing is safe for the street artist.

Favourite of Period!’s editorial staff – unsurprisingly – is this no-parking post disguised as a tampon. Even the manhole cover has become an inherent part of the creation. Paint isn’t the artist’s only medium of expression.
